The kind of signature we'll be talking about is the kind you see on emails and old forum posts. It's just a way to add more personal flair to your blog and bulletins. I'm honestly surprised and a little dissapointed Spacehey doesn't have a built in signature feature because it was a staple of early internet profiles.
Pretty simple, just think of a phrase or quote you're comfortable having on all of your posts and type it in notepad or google docs. Anywhere you can easily copy and paste it is totally fine! :) You may want to add something that indicates what the reader is reading is a signature but the way you wanna do that is totally up to you.
A lot of people don't know this but if you use a windows device, pressing windows + . will open a window that lets you pick emoji's, symbols and kaomoji!
While I don't fully understand the magic of fonts you can copy and paste I DO know a few websites you can convert text into your desired font from. They're all really simple text converters so using them is pretty straightforward. It's worth noting however that using a special font or any special symbol can mess up a screen reader so be careful and try to use those elements sparingly!
Adding a link is pretty simple, you just use the HTML anchor tag but I'll leave an example you can copy if you don't know what that is. I reccomend linking something that has more than one social media on it, like a linktree, carrd or pronouns page so that people can find your other socials really easily.
I reccomend adding blinkies specifically because they fit well within lines of text and aren't too terribly distracting. There's lots of great resources already on SpaceHey that showcase where you can get good blinkies so I won't waste your time sharing links you've probably already seen. I will however show you how to place blinkies once you find them, you just use the image tag and add the source link and alt text.
Because of how SpaceHey works you have to use links of images that are publicly available online. If you're worried about losing images over time I reccomend saving them to a service like postimg or imgur so you always have direct permalinks.
Also, if you want it here's a modified version with standard blinkie sizing so that you can ensure all your images are the same size:
The only thing left to do is save it at the bottom of your bulletin and blog layouts. If you don't already know how to use layouts for bulletins or blog posts all you have to do is press the blue code button under "content" and then paste the code for your layout. You should do this BEFORE writing the content of your post! To go back to normal post editing mode just press the button a second time.
It's worth noting that on desktop Spacehey DOES NOT save your layout so if you are a desktop user you will have to paste your code every time for every post. I reccomend saving it somewhere you have quick and easy access to with a simple name for this reason.
Anyway that's it! Pretty simple and straightforward.
